Rise · EMBE LABS LLC
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how EMBE LABS LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Rise application ("Rise" or the "App"), available on Apple iOS devices. By using Rise, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
If you have questions, contact us at team@embelabs.xyz.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any display name you choose.
- Bible chat messages: The questions, prayers, and Scripture-related prompts you send to the AI chat feature.
- Bible notes: Text notes, highlights, and reflections you create within the App, including typed notes and photos of handwritten margin notes you choose to upload.
- Sermon recordings: Audio recordings you make using the in-app sermon recorder. These recordings are transcribed and stored so you can review them later.
- Faith journey data: Information you share through your use of the App that informs the memory and knowledge graph that personalizes your experience — including topics you study, passages you return to, and themes you pray about.
- Profile and preference data: Settings, reading preferences, notification preferences, and any other configuration you set within the App.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage data: Features used, screens visited, session duration, and interaction patterns within the App.
- Crash and performance data: Technical logs, error reports, and performance metrics used to diagnose issues and improve reliability.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we receive a device token from Apple to deliver push notifications.
1.3 Subscription and Purchase Information
All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple but do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.
1.4 Permissions We Request
Rise requests the following device permissions, only when needed for specific features:
- Microphone: Required to record sermons using the in-app sermon recorder. We do not access the microphone at any time other than during active recording sessions you initiate.
- Camera / Photo Library: Required only if you choose to photograph handwritten Bible notes. We do not access your camera or photos except when you explicitly initiate this action.
- Notifications: Used to deliver daily devotionals, reading reminders, and sermon review prompts. You can disable these at any time in iOS Settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Rise App, including AI Bible chat, sermon notes, and devotional features
- Personalize your experience through the faith journey memory graph — connecting your past conversations, notes, and prayers to future responses
- Transcribe sermon recordings and make them searchable within your account
- Deliver push notifications you have opted in to receive
- Authenticate your account and maintain account security
- Process subscription status and manage access to paid features
- Diagnose technical issues, fix bugs, and improve App performance
- Communicate with you about account matters, updates, and support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your Bible conversations, notes, prayers, sermon recordings, or related content to train our own AI models or for advertising. Our AI service providers process this content only to provide AI functionality to Rise, subject to their applicable commercial API terms.
3. AI Features and Third-Party AI Services
Rise's core Bible chat feature uses large language model technology provided by third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI, L.L.C. When you send a message in Bible chat, that message — along with relevant context from your personal memory graph — is transmitted to OpenAI's API to generate a response.
What this means for your privacy:
- Your chat messages and selected personalization context may be sent to OpenAI's API to generate AI responses.
- We are designed to transmit only the context we reasonably determine is needed to generate a relevant, personalized response.
- We do not share your full account profile, email address, or real-world identity with OpenAI unless technically necessary to provide the service.
- OpenAI states that, by default, it does not train on inputs or outputs from API customers unless the customer explicitly opts in.
- OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for service operation, abuse monitoring, and legal compliance, unless a different retention configuration applies.
- We do not use your Bible conversations, notes, prayers, sermon recordings, or related content for advertising or to train our own AI models.
Sermon transcription may use third-party speech-to-text processing services. Audio data may be transmitted to those providers for transcription and handled according to our agreements with those providers.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
We share data with third-party vendors who process it on our behalf to operate the App. These vendors are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes. Categories of service providers include:
- Cloud infrastructure and database hosting
- AI language model APIs, including OpenAI, for Bible chat responses, summarization, personalization, and related AI features
- Speech-to-text processing (for sermon transcription)
- Crash reporting and performance monitoring
- Analytics (aggregated, non-advertising)
- Authentication services
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of EMBE LABS LLC, our users, or the public.
4.3 Business Transfers
If EMBE LABS LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email or in-App notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4.4 With Your Consent
We may share information in other ways if you explicitly consent.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your account information, Bible notes, sermon recordings, and faith journey data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Anonymized, aggregated usage data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytical purposes.
- We may retain limited information where required by law or legitimate business interest (such as billing records for completed transactions).
You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing team@embelabs.xyz or using the account deletion option within the App settings.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) for all data transmitted between the App and our servers
- Encryption at rest for stored user data
- Access controls limiting employee access to user data to those with a need to know
- Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the protection of your spiritual and personal data seriously and are committed to industry-best practices.
7. Children's Privacy
Rise is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at team@embelabs.xyz and we will delete that information promptly.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@embelabs.xyz.
9. International Data Transfers
EMBE LABS LLC is based in the United States. If you use Rise from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using Rise, you consent to this transfer. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
Rise may include links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as Apple Music for worship features). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with any personal information.
11. Apple App Store Disclosure
Rise is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and Apple's Privacy Policy apply to your use of the App Store. Rise's privacy practices as described in this policy are our own and separate from Apple's.
The following is a summary of data types Rise collects for Apple's privacy nutrition label purposes:
